Oscar Night

The Oscars are Hollywood’s most fashionable night, so obviously we can’t let it slip by without weighing in. Here are the best of the best from some of our favorite designers:

Heartstrings: 29th Annual St. Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show

Today proved that a little rain can’t keep Dallas ladies from looking their very best. Starting at 9:45am hundreds of glamorous guests dressed in sheaths, furs, and lots of red and pink arrived at The Meyerson Symphony Center in the Dallas Arts District.

The 2013 chairs, Maggie Kipp, Angela Choquette, and Paige Slates (above), shook things up this year by moving the event from the Anatole Hotel to the Meyerson Symphony Center. The new location set the perfect pitch for a moving presentation by the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and a sophisticated fashion show produced by Jan Strimple.

We couldn’t be prouder of our very own Stanley Korshak President, Crawford Brock, who received the Lynda Adleta Heart of Gold Award presented by Ellen Tracy for his commitment to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and many other local causes.

The highly anticipated “Heartstrings” fashion show featured “The Best of Stanley Korshak” and Monique Lhuillier’s Spring Collection. As the first and largest Dallas fashion show of the Spring Season, the St. Valentine’s Day Fashion Show always sets the stage for what Dallas women should be wearing this season.

Tutu Chic Fashion Show

First of all, I have to say that this was my first year to attend this event benefiting the Texas Ballet Theater, and I was blown away! The combination of the two art forms, ballet and fashion, was absolutely stunning and unique. Who knew that professional ballerinas make such amazing runway models? As Store Owner, Crawford Brock, said, “It is great to see our clothes modeled by women who are in such great physical shape and who are doing what they love.” The show featured looks from Designer Naeem Khan and others and was co-chaired by Kristi Hoyl, Daffan Nettle, Paige Slates and Alicia Wood.

Choreography by Texas Ballet Theater Associate Artistic Director Tim O’Keefe.

Stanley Korshak is proud to introduce up-and-coming designer Chadwick Bell to the women of Dallas. Chadwick Bell’s collections represent “the blend of romantic and utilitarian, the European tradition of tailoring mixed with a sense of American ease, and the combination of strength and vulnerability in his ideal woman.”

Chadwick Bell will be presenting Spring 2012 at the Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon in Dallas on February 14th. Reception at Stanley Korshak to follow.

Meet Nardos Imam:

Stanley Korshak is home to more than just the likes of Valentino and Christian Louboutin. Under our roof you’ll find a special treat only we offer—the lovely designs of our in-house designer, Nardos Imam.

Working her way up from custom alterations, Nardos has come a long way from her early upbringings in poverty-stricken Eritrea.

Fashion has always interested Nardos. Watching her mother make replicas of the gowns she saw in Vogue, Nardos knew she had a passion for fashion at a young age.

At 18 years old, Nardos came to the U.S. to pursue her dreams.

Today, she makes custom couture gowns for people of all age.

“These women each have their own individual style and I take that into consideration with each custom piece I design,” said Nardos.

From a Sweet 16 dress, to a gown fit for the Royal Wedding, Nardos incorporates her clients own person style into each and every design she makes.

Nardos’ unique designs range from $2,000 for cocktail dresses to $3,000 and up for gowns.

CUCINELLI Fall 2011 Presentation

After our presentation, I caught up with our Cucinelli rep, Elif Gezgec, who shared some interesting tidbits about the designer and the Fall 2011 collection:

Q: How has Cucinelli evolved throughout the years?

A: It has transformed from a cashmere and sweater company to a complete lifestyle. Now the brand is considered one of the only true luxury sportswear companies.

Q: Why doesn’t Cucinelli have runway shows?

A: Mr. Cucinelli doesn’t want the attention on the clothing. He believes in understated elegance and unsurpassed craftsmanship.

Q: What’s new for Fall?

A: “The King of Gray” has introduced color! The big colors are “country colors” such as browns, greens, oranges, yellows, and reds.

Need another reason to love Cucinelli? Mr. Cucinelli donates 20% of the company’s sales to restore his hometown, and corporate base of Solomeo, Italy!

Don’t forget, the Cucinelli trunk show is here until tomorrow! Come see the amazing collection, such as furs and outerwear that you can’t get anywhere else. Appointments optional: 214.871.3626
