Isaia: The Coral Walk

On Sept. 27, Stanley Korshak invited Dallas’s finest men’s shoppers to The Coral Walk, the opening celebration of a special Pop-Up-Shop featuring the Fall Winter 2012 collection curated by Gianluca Isaia, ISAIA president and creative director.

Stanley Korshak Owner Crawford Brock with Eric Wilkerson, Gianluca Isaia (note the coral melton and flip flops!), and Jim Shay from Isaia

Guests Joel Schubert, Mark Lewis, Matt Lewis, and Evan Baker

“Stanley Korshak is one of four stores in the United States to be chosen to host The Coral Walk” says Crawford Brock.  “Our clients are able to
see the entire spectrum of the Isaia look.  This is an opportunity for anyone in attendance to experience practically everything ISAIA has to offer.”

Staying true to the Italian tradition, culinary selections were in abundance. Tastes included homemade pizzas fresh from a stone oven, hand sliced prosciutto and cheeses, and Pacuigo Italian gelato for dessert.

RVR Neckwear Designer Profile
The man behind the tie is Robert Valdes-Rodriguez. RVR to many friends, colleagues and business partners.
As a Wall Street executive, Robert had a ‘lucky’ tie, one that he always wore to important meetings and client pitches. After many successful years with his ‘lucky’ tie, it got old and frayed. Robert’s fruitless search for a replacement led him to design his own tie. It quickly turned into a passion, ultimately resulting in a collection, simply named RVR.
With the objective of creating a tie that successful men around the world could always depend on, Robert personally oversees every step of the RVR tie-making process. From the silk designs to the hand-stitching in Italy, Robert is the reason why the quality and style of RVR ties are so uncompromisingly high.
Q&A with RVR:
Q: What do customers get from RVR that they’re not getting from other designers?
A: RVR brings a unique value proposition. As a successful international banker for over 20 years, I actually know the clients. I was the client. Our approach is not driven by fashion trend but rather focused on the end user. Every RVR tie produced is with the clients in mind.
Q: Why ties?
A: In my opinion, the tie is the one menswear accessory that can make or break your look. You can hide an inferior belt, or mediocre pair of shoes but you can’t hide a bad tie.
RVR. All about elegance. Inside and out.

Signora Maria Theresa Nicoletto
Stanley Korshak has carried Belvest, an Italian clothing line, for about 20 of our 25 years.  Belvest centers themselves around quality, excellence, creativity, and craftsmanship, which are seen in every single piece of clothing they make.  Over the years, the store has seen considerable success with Belvest and has developed a large following for their product.  Belvest’s owner, Signora Maria Theresa Nicoletto kindly praised us for our 25th anniversary by stating “Congratulations on your first 25 years!!! We are very proud to have partnered with you in the past years, and we wish you continued success.”   Our success with Belvest is mainly due to our unique relationship with Mrs. Nicoletto.
Our Men’s Divisional Merchandise Manager, Keith Carlisle, recently traveled to Italy to meet Mrs. Nicoletto and to visit Belvest’s factory in the small town of Piazzola sul Brenta, near Padova and Venice.  Carlisle states that he “visits the factory mainly for the purpose of choosing bolts of special fabrics that they send to us for special order purposes.”
Signora Maria Theresa Nicoletto is involved daily with the running of this large clothing production operation.  For example Mrs. Nicoletto finds the time in her busy schedule to personally help Carlisle find the best fabrics and the best styles from which to choose our suits and sport coats that we buy “ready made” for stock.  She also gives Carlisle oversight of the fabrics he chooses to send as bolts, which are literally unmade garments, for special order purposes.  They send each bolt with only enough fabric to make one garment.  Carlisle explains how the special order process is a unique and one of a kind experience:  “We have the customers choose a cloth, we do measurements, then the bolt of fabric goes back to the factory in Piazzola sul Brenta to be completed into a suit or sport coat, then the finished garment is sent to us.
Mrs. Nicoletto remains the only head of a large primarily men’s clothing company in all of Italy.  However Belvest also makes beautiful women’s garments, which can be seen in our women’s department.  She is personally involved in the styling of every aspect of her company, making each piece as beautiful as the next. We trust Carlisle when he says, “Signora Maria Theresa Nicoletto is as special as she looks.”
